Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Learn how to install your new rain shower head in 5 easy steps.

What You'll Need

Tools

  • • Adjustable wrench
  • • Adjustable pliers
  • • Hex key (if needed)

Materials

  • • Thread seal tape (PTFE)
  • • New shower head
  • • Clean cloth

Step 1: Turn Off Water Supply

Locate your main water shut-off valve and turn it off. Turn on a sink faucet to release pressure in the system.

Step 2: Remove Old Shower Head

Using an adjustable wrench, turn the shower arm counterclockwise to loosen and remove the old shower head. Be careful not to damage the pipe.

Step 3: Clean the Threads

Remove any old thread seal tape and debris from the shower arm threads using a clean cloth.

Step 4: Apply Thread Seal Tape

Wrap 3-4 layers of PTFE thread seal tape clockwise around the male threads of the shower arm.

Step 5: Install New Shower Head

Screw the new shower head onto the shower arm by hand first, then tighten with a wrench. Be careful not to over-tighten.

Final Checks

  • Turn water back on slowly and check for leaks

  • Test all spray modes and water pressure

  • Wipe down and admire your new shower head
