Legendary actor Scarlett Johansson has opened up about her feelings after realizing how she was groomed for sexier roles in Hollywood.
Johansson broke it all down while speaking on iHeartRadio’s. Table for two The podcast
gave black Widow The actor opened the chat by saying, “I’ve become, sort of, a genius.”
“Young girls like that really object,” she added. “And that’s just a fact, so I think whatever box they’re put in, it sets you on a trajectory of how your life is going to go.”
During her conversation, Johansen added, “Now, obviously women are really more able to choose their own path.”
Regarding feeling typecast, the star admitted that her late teens weren’t the best time to break away from the mold as she had started to explore her “desire and sexuality” by then.
“I think because of the momentum that I was launched into, I really got stuck into it,” she explained.
“I was kind of being groomed as what you call that kind of actor. I was playing the role of the other woman and the object of desire and, you know, I suddenly found myself trapped in that space. Found, like, I can’t get out of it.”
Johansson later realized that jobs that depended on her appearance made for a short career because “I think for that kind of bombshell [role] Which burns bright and quick, and then you don’t have much of a chance beyond that, and I felt like I was burning out so quickly.”
